The longer our friend from Memphis is gone, the more outdated is the sound of his recordings. To keep the business alive the songs are remixed, remade and reimaged from time to time and "a new Elvis" is presented to the masses. Sometimes certain elements were left out to make the music sound more simple and organic, on other occasions the opposite was tried and orchestras and choirs were added. At times completely new music tracks were recorded and the king's vocals were added to them. Not each and everything can be called a success, but "Elvis vs JXL: A Little Less Conversation" became a global chartbreaker in 2002, "The Wonder Of You" went all the way to the number one in the UK in 2016 and the movie "Elvis" doubled the king's streams in 2022 and propelled him back in the top 5 of the biggest zombie-moneymakers of the showbiz. So commercially the idea isn't all that bad.
