In December 2024 Follow That Dream Records released the second volume of "Elvis - The Last Tours". As expected we now get to hear the bits and pieces the sound engineer taped through his mixing desk in March 1977. Just like during the previous tour the opening ("Also Sprach Zarathustra", "See See Rider" and "I Got A Woman" / "Amen") as well as the over-long band introductions were not recorded, so each tape contains just 12 to 16 tracks. Of course FTD releases this set in physical form only.

While the first volume of this series included material, which Follow That Dream had released previously on a single disc, the second part omits the concert from March 24th (issued in 2011 under the name of "Amarillo '77") and focuses on unreleased recordings. However, a few of the songs have been used as bonus tracks. The audio quality varies a bit, most of the material is a tad below the excellent sounding recordings from February 1977.

Alexandria/Louisiana (Mach 29, 1977)    Alexandria/Louisiana (March 30, 1977)

Verdict

Elvis is in better voice than in February and also includes some more or less rare songs. But on most occasions he sounds tired and obviously has to operate in energy saving mode to be able to make it through the shows.
