My name is Dirk Welz. I'm a Presley fan from Germany and I'd like to welcome you to my website.

But why does one bother to create a page about an artist, who died half a century ago? Well, he was the first global superstar, the first to be promoted in true multi-media style and nothing less than the blueprint of all following generations of popstars. Colonel Tom Parker, his congenial manager and mastermind of his career, showed the world how to create and promote a star. He also practically invented the merchandising business in the field of popular music. Elvis Presley is the sales king of the analogue age and still is regarded the most successful artist in the music industry so far. But even the cleverest promotion wizzard could not perform that stunt without an artist of real substance. Elvis Aron Presley had it all: The look, the voice, the feeling for music and the ability to shine on recordings, on stage, on tv and on the silver screen. I am a fan since I heared his voice on the radio at the age of seven. For my 8th birthday I got my first set of Presley records (yes, I am that old!) and have not stopped listening to him ever since. For me Elvis' voice is the most beautiful male voice I have heared so far. I'd be glad, if this page would help you to discover the life and art of Elvis Presley and provide you with some background information on certain tracks or albums you like.

I also like to apologize for my English. It's not my native language, so there will be a lot of linguistic errors and maybe at times even some pure drivel. Nevertheless I hope you enjoy to read about the man and his music and come back from time to time to check out the updates.
