As we all know, in 1977 even the king's sound
engineer didn't want to waste too much magnetic
tape on recording the same old show time after
time. So he didn't start the equipment before the
long, worn-out intro of "Also Sprach
Zarathustra", "See See Rider" and "I Got A
Woman" / "Amen" was over and
interrupted the procedure when Elvis was taking
his 15 minutes to introduce the band. He also
didn't tape the solo performances of Sherrill
Nielsen. What was left, were
barely ten to fourteen songs.
In the past Follow That Dream Records had
released a show from the tour in February and
another one from March. Due to the omissions
I've mentioned earlier, both discs were padded
out
with bonus tracks. Because Ernst Jorgensen and
Roger Semon knew, that even the most loyal fans
wouldn't buy the umpteenth release of that kind
(the same old songs and monologues recorded at
different dates and places), they invented a
series called "The Last Tours". Volume one was
released in October 2024 and included four
compact discs with bits and pieces of seven
concerts, which were taped in February 1977. The sound carriers were stored in a
thick, fold-out digipak, nicely designed with
photos from various concerts of the accordant
tour. As usual FTD didn't bother to keep up with
the times and issue their stuff for streaming,
too.
The audio quality is very good, considering
the source. All instruments and voices are
balanced very well and if there was any hiss on
the original tape, Jan Eliasson has removed it
during the mastering process.

Verdict
Elvis isn't in his best voice (although
it improves with every show) and also sounds
a bit tired and weary. Nevertheless he's in
a cheerful mood and even includes some rare
songs.
