At first I thought "Ooh Las Vegas" might win
an award for being the most stupid name of an
album ever, but then I remembered that it was a
song by Gram Parsons, recorded in 1973. As the
title suggests it's a song about Sin City, but
even more important is, that Parsons was
accompanied by James Burton, Glen Hardin, Ronnie
Tutt and Emory Gordy. In that very year they all
were part of the Presley band, so "Ooh Las
Vegas" turns out to be a clever name for an
album with a recording made in Vegas in 1973.
The set was released in December 2024 by
Millbranch Music and includes a cd as well as a
dvd. It features a very good sounding audience
recording of the king's midnight show on
February 11, 1973. Besides that we get to see
various 8mm films, made by fans between February
10th and 20th. There's also clips of "An
American Trilogy", "Ooh Vegas" and "Sunburst
Elvis" (all featuring 8mm fan footage) as well
as a short documentary about the stint. The data
carriers are housed in a fold-out digi-pak.
Since this release was issued by a collector's
label, the audio is not available on the
streaming platforms.

Verdict
Considering the source the audio and
video footage is more than just decent. The
concert itself doesn't offer any surprises,
but since his buddy Jack Lord is in the
audience, Elvis puts some extra effort in
his performance.
