Verdict
Elvis is at his first vocal peak, the material is great and the boxed set couldn't have been done any better.

The ultimate site about the king of the analogue age
The sessions for the "His Hand In Mine" album were covered by Follow That Dream Records in March 2021. The front cover features a photo of Elvis, that was made during the same shoot as the original album cover, the backside lists the content. Inside the box we find three compact discs in a digipak, which mirrors an old tape box. Of course there's also a booklet with liner notes, photos, memorabilia, etc. Even though streaming covered 80% of the music consumption at the time, FTD regarded a digital release to be unnecessary and stuck to the good, ole' technology of the 1980s.
The first disc contains the album tracks as well as "Surrender" and "Crying In The Chapel", which were issued on separate singles. The other two cds feature the complete recording session. This time it really was a single session, because Elvis and the group started on October 10, 1960 at 6:30 pm and finished on the next day at 8:00 am. That's what I call efficiency!
Just as they had done back in 2006 for the collector's edition of the "His Hand In Mine" album, Ernst Jorgensen and Roger Semon (people behind this label) hired Vic Anesini and Sebastian Jeansson to master and mix the recordings. The old set already sounds amazing, but the technological progress within the 15 years beween the releases enabled them to deliver even better results. I dare to say, that recordings from 1960 cannot sound cleaner and brighter as they do here.
