Verdict
The video and audio quality is ok considering the source and age, but even in 2007 a proper hd scan / remastering would have looked much better. Besides that, there are no extras.

The ultimate site about the king of the analogue age
Just like Paramount, Warner wanted to cash-in on the 30th anniversary of the king's demise and re-issued all the movies Elvis had made for MGM. At the time the studio was owned by Sony, which cooperated with Time Warner for the home entertainment release of the back catalogue.
In 2007 Warner released dvd versions of all the movies, Elvis had made for MGM. Five of them were bundled up in "The Hollywood Collection". However, there is no rhyme or reason to be found here, this collection is 100% random and could have included any movie. Because the blu rays already were overtaking the by then standard dvd format, it would have been nice if Warner had produced proper hd scans / remasters and released them on blu ray. It certainly was a monetary decision not to do so. However, "Jailhouse Rock" and "Viva Las Vegas" got the hd-treatment, too. For reviews of the accordant movies just tap on the dvd covers.
The video was remastered and exceeds the quality of previous releases. The colors are bright, but the picture discloses some wear and tear of the original negatives and everything doesn't look as sharp and detailed as on more current hd remasters of old movies. None of the movies featured here have been re-released so far, but the MGM movies that have been included in the "Warner Archive Collection" look much better than their dvd counterparts.
While Paramount mixed the soundtracks up to 5.1, Warner went with the original mono format. Nevertheless the mix is good and there are no distortions, hiss or other malaises.
The video and audio quality is ok considering the source and age, but even in 2007 a proper hd scan / remastering would have looked much better. Besides that, there are no extras.
