Coinciding with the Xmas-business 2017, Follow
That Dream Records released a double-disc named
"The Bicentennial Show". Of course the album
didn't feature a special gala concert regarding
the 200th anniversery of the USA, but simply two
tour-shows from 1976. The first one was taped on
July 4th in Tulsa/Oklahoma, the second one on
October 19th in Duluth/Minnesota. The compact
discs are housed in a fold-out digipak, the
recordings were remastered by Jan Eliasson. Disc
number two was beefed-up with five bonus tracks,
which were also taped in October 1976, but this
time in Madison/Wisconsin.
In the summer of 1976 Elvis was quite
overweight and most of the shows were lackluster
affairs. At the end of the year his condition
improved and the performances got better, too.

Verdict
On July 4th Elvis obviously wants to
impress Mr. Roberts, was in a clear frame of
mind and performes longer than usual. But
his vocals sound laboured and his level of
energy is low. In October he appears to be
in much better condition and showes no signs
of fatigue.
