Verdict
The midnight show Elvis gave on December 13th may be the best concert of the season, the shows from December 6th can be considered as a bonus and are quite enjoyable, too.

In December 2018, suitably for the Xmas business and also meeting the content of the album, Follow That Dream Records released "Holiday Season In Vegas - Hilton Hotel, December '75". The set of two compact discs (remember, FTD stricktly avoids digital releases) presents recordings of the midnight show on December 13th and a mix of the concerts Elvis gave on December 6th. As usual the sound carriers are housed in a fold-out digipak, which shows some photos made during this season as well as promo material and the "technical data". To these eyes the design looks nice.
On December 13th Felton Jarvis recorded both shows via Reel-To-Reel tapes, which makes them sounding better than the usual soundboard recordings. Back in 1977 and 1978 RCA has used two songs from the midnight show as b-sides of the singles "My Way" and "Unchained Melody". It was the first time, Presley's renditions of "America (The Beautiful) and "Softly, As I Leave You" could be enjoyed outside the concert venues. The complete dinner show was released by FTD in 2002 on an album called "Dinner At Eight". The sonic quality is great, most of the time one might think to listen to professional RCA recordings.
The concerts from December 6th were unreleased, because the old magnetic tape is demaged beyond repair. But because the defect affects the second half of the dinner show and the first half of the midnight show, Jan Eliasson was able to create a "complete" concert out of the faultless stuff. The final gaps were filled with bits and pieces taped in Omaha on June 30, 1974. Unfortunately FTD decided to hide this information from the fans, who reacted understandably pissed, when they found out. The audio is not nearly as great as on the first disc, obviously Mr. Eliasson had to work with heavy filters to turn these recordings into something releasable. However, the result certainly sounds a lot better than most of the audience recordings, that circulate amongst the fans.
